DeCrises aims to enhance democratic governance in Europe by supporting a just and inclusive twin transition through multilevel governance and community-led social innovation. Our mission is to identify and address the institutional gaps in current multilevel governance (MLG) systems and promote citizen-driven approaches that empower communities.
By fostering social innovation, enhancing regional collaboration, and enabling meaningful participation at all levels - from local to EU-wide - DeCrises supports the development of resilient societies capable of navigating the complex challenges of environmental change, digitalisation, and crisis response.
The project officially launched on 1 April 2025 and will run for 36 months, concluding on 31 March 2028. It is coordinated by the University of Jyväskylä, Finland.
The main mission of DeCrises is to support the development of resilient societies capable of navigating the complex challenges of environmental change and digitalisation, especially in the times of crises.
