DeCrises hosted Session 1 of its first stakeholder workshop
On 19 May 2024, over 30 participants had the opportunity to join Session 1 of the first DeCrises stakeholder workshop. Organised under Work Package 4 (WP4), this session aimed to inform the stakeholders about the project, its case studies and how their participation can support the project’s efforts in assisting the just and inclusive twin transition in the EU.
Moderated by Dr. Joaquin Zenteno Hopp with the support of Cheshta Arora (WNRI), this session commenced with an introduction of the project’s four case studies, the actors behind them and their goals.
Then, Vineta Kleinberga (RSU) shared insights from WP1 focused on the theoretical framework of multi-level governance (MLG). Her presentation “Who shapes decisions in the green and digital transitions?” focused on the influence of the different MLG levels on the decision-making processes and the collaborations between them.
The next presentation showcased WP2 which examines how EU and regional goals are translated into regional strategies and actions. Focusing on the green and digital policies, Dr. Veronika Oravcová (UNIBA) highlighted the importance of the regions and their equal empowerment.
During the third presentation, Rodrigo Santaella Goncalves (LUT) introduced WP3 with its objectives, contributions and analytical orientation. He shared insights from the current actions within this work package - an analysis of the EU Green Deal and a public report on the Digital Strategy.
These presentations were followed by an open discussion on connecting abstract governance ideas with actual practices of actors. The second part of this workshop will tackle this problem directly by hosting four separate sessions for each case study. Register here for the upcoming Session 2.
Join the network to participate in future discussions around the case-studies, or shape what governance in practice looks like.
