DeCrises at HubSirk 2026

On 3-4 February, Hub for Ocean, West Norway's hub for knowledge and expertise, organised HubSirk 2026.

This event brought together businesses, public authorities and experts in Forde, Norway, to discuss and define strategies for social innovation in the Western Norway region.

Through workshops, presentations and networking sessions, attendees, among whom was Joaquin Zenteno Hopp, a DeCrises project’s partner from WNRI, explored the transition from linear to circular systems as well as the related challenges and opportunities.

A highlighted theme was the social symbiosis, based on cross-sector cooperation and collaborations between citizens, municipalities, academia and business, which is needed for successful circular solutions.

“During the event, it became clear to me that sustainable circular initiatives thrive not only on technology or strategy, but on our willingness to openly share both our doubts and our aspirations. That exchange is the essence of social symbiosis”, says Joaquin Zenteno Hopp.
