An upcoming workshop on writing policy recommendations
On 23 June 2026, the University of Agder will host a hybrid workshop on writing policy recommendations.
Co-organised by the sister projects DeCrises, MICAD and RECODE-MLG, this event aims to improve the participants’ skills to draft, design and communicate effective policy guidance.
This workshop will address the purpose, content, and strategic use of these recommendations. It will combine practical examples with discussions on the following themes:
- The transfer of knowledge: Why science needs to inform policy makers - Matúš Mišík (Comenius University in Bratislava);
- Drafting recommendations for policy makers at different levels of governance - Jon Halvard Eide (Agder fylkeskommune);
- From participation to policy: capacity-building, advocacy and actionable recommendations - Rebecca Marconi (ALDA - European Association for Local Democracy);
- How far do we get through learning by example? A hands-on exercise - John Erik Fossum (ARENA Centre for European Studies, University of Oslo).
